A well-placed mirror makes a washbasin area both practical and elegant. Luz Square is a frameless backlit LED mirror with softened corners, in two sizes. Here is how to choose the right one and install it properly.
60 × 80 or 80 × 80 cm?
As a rule, the mirror should be about as wide as the basin or slightly narrower than the vanity unit.
- 60 × 80 cm hangs vertically above a single basin, such as Evona or Felis. It gives a good view of the face and the shoulders.
- 80 × 80 cm suits a wider vanity, or a mirror meant to become the focal point of the wall. For a wide horizontal mirror, choose this square format.
At what height?
Centre the mirror on the basin. Place its centre roughly at the eye level of the main users, often around 150 to 160 cm from the floor. Leave a clear gap above the tap or the spout of a wall-mounted tap. If people of very different heights share the bathroom, the 80 cm height of both formats gives everyone a good view.
Plan the power supply before tiling
Luz Square is connected to the mains. The power supply must arrive behind the mirror, at the planned position, so it has to be planned before tiling. A qualified electrician makes the connection, following the electrical rules for bathrooms in your country. The One Touch sensor on the glass switches the light on and off, so no separate wall switch is needed for the mirror.
The light
The backlight uses SMD 2835 LEDs, 120 per metre, with three colour temperatures: 3000 K (warm), 4500 K (neutral) and 6500 K (cool). The colour rendering index above 85 shows skin tones naturally. Read our article on choosing the colour temperature for details.
Built for a humid room
- Anti-fog: the glass stays clear after a hot shower.
- IP44: protected against splashing water.
- Copper-free mirror, 5 mm: no black spots or darkened edges over time.
To clean the glass, spray a glass cleaner on a microfibre cloth rather than on the mirror, and avoid abrasive products.
